About the Get Wild Chili Cook-Off

When: Saturday, November 16 2024 from 4-8pm

Where: Aspen Hall in Shevlin Park 

Tickets: $30 per adult general admission online, $35 at the door, $15 for children under 12 (under 3 are free). Admission includes one sample of each chili!

Reserve a table: $400 and includes 10 admission tickets

This fun, delicious fall fundraiser will support Think Wild, a 501c3 nonprofit wildlife hospital conservation center. With entry, guests will get to sample and vote on their favorite chilis, soups, and/or sides within five categories:

  1. Best All Around 
  2. Wildest Chili
  3. Best Vegan/Vegetarian Chili
  4. Soup-er Soups (best soup or stew)
  5. Best Chili Side Dish (bread for dipping or topping)

 

Wine and beer will be available for purchase, and guests can win raffles, enjoy live music, and watch footage from Think Wild's beaver monitoring trailcams at Shevlin Park.

Think you’ve got the wildest chili or soup recipe? We're seeking chefs to enter the contest!

Entries will be tasted and voted on by attendees in five major categories:

  1. Best All Around 
  2. Wildest Chili
  3. Best Vegan/Vegetarian Chili
  4. Soup-er Soups (best soup or stew)
  5. Best Chili Side Dish (bread for dipping or topping)

Winners will get to take home some wild prizes!

Contestants should come prepared to:

  • Arrive and set up by 3:00pm with a crockpot or large pot* to keep food warm (there will be outlets available) 
  • List the ingredients and/or allergens
  • Provide necessary toppings
  • Make enough for 50-100 small tastings (3oz cups - cups and spoons provided!)
  • If desired, hand out recipes, flyers, etc. 

*The US Food Chef'Store has affordable cooking equipment and ingredients for large quantities.
